Bucket showers were the norm and as wonderful as they are, they do not leave you feeling as clean as the standard American shower! I won’t lie, there were many many times I felt utterly attractive and really down on myself because of it. My face broke out terribly and I still have scars to prove it. Travel is glorious on one hand and a health hazard on the other. I came home from eleven months of traveling weary and physically unhealthy.
